Have you ever been forced to reckon with the the hero within the woman. We call this a SHERO. A shero to us are women that have faced horrifying, life threatening and life changing situations, yet soldier on despite of them. One of our most adored S-H-E-M-A Gurls member “Diana” once called US her sheros. This statement has never been taken lightly, because to be a hero of any fashion or form, you would have had to made a difference in the lives of others or your own.

This blog is dedicated to women that have OVERCOME and while overcoming, are still helping others. It is also a tool to teach women how to protect themselves while implementing the confidence and skills to do so. This blog is also a reminder that sisterhood is key to achieving goals. With sisterhood we understand that working together not only builds self character, but it also builds a stronger SHERO in YOU.

We have recently had the honor of meeting a woman that has fit this profile to a “T”….

Elsie Allen, the founder of “Sisters SOS” (sisters supernaturally overcoming situations). Her mission is to provide women with information, tools and training essential for a safe and secure life. The vision of Sister’s S.O.S is to prepare women today and future generations of women with a safety plan of action that will help them avoid danger if possible, defend themselves if necessary and most importantly, know how to survive unsafe situations.

Sisters SOS want to always recognize the women who have made a difference in your lives by sharing these stories of encouragement with others.

www.sisterssos.com

Please visit her site and won’t you come join us as we speak with Elsie Allen on Friday July 17th @ 8 p.m. PST 10 p.m CST 11 p.m. EST. This will be our first interview back from break, so we are excited to hit the radio waves once again. She will be specifically speaking on ways women can protect themselves while having information, skill and knowledge to perfect the shero within all of us.

~ What have you overcome?

~ Who is your Shero?

~ Have you become a shero to someone in your life?

~ How can you help strengthen someone facing a life changing situation?

Caring is sharing and we look forward to hearing from you all,

~ Your SHEMA Team ~

It’s a known fact that most crime victims are women. What can we do to protect ourselves and feel safe? Well for most of us it’s having a gun around that will help. It is also a new phenomenon of women gun owners for a lot of different reasons. More women are packing heat just to feel safe. If you live in a high crime area, live alone or have been victimized before you are probably one of them. It’s not just a fashion statement.

The law says you can shoot to kill if you are in reasonable danger. Although carrying a gun may make you feel at ease experts warn if you aren’t prepared to pull the trigger, you shouldn’t own a gun.

If you are a woman and are thinking about owning a gun you should first get the proper training. This will solve a lot a problems like trigger happy fingers or being just too scared to even pull the trigger when danger is staring you right in the face.

~ How do you feel about women and guns?
~ What do feel is reasonable danger to use a gun?
~ Have you ever been victimized?
~ What about the issue of having guns in the home with small children, how can we protect them from unneccessary harm?
~ Are you a woman gun owner and does it make you feel safe or are you still hesitant about using it or carrying it on your person?
~ How do you feel about the President’s Stand on Gun Control?

Please use the comment area here to share with us your feelings on women and guns for protection and safety.

On May 15th @ 8 pm PT / 11 pm ET we will have a live follow up discussion with gun expert and CCW trainer Rick Ector (http://www.detroitccw.com) on our BTR show. He will share with us important information about women and gun ownership and will be available to answer your questions you post here or ask on our show. Please join us.
