Living The Pipe Dream

~ You’ll never amount to anything!

~ Do you really think YOUR capable of that?

Those are just a few questions negative people ask when you tell them your dreams of the future

~ What are your dreams of success and what are the awful things people have said to you to discourage you from the reality of future success?

Sometimes the negativity comes from the dourness of people, ranging from family, friends and co-workers. These are people that we regularly life our life surrounded by, yet are the very same folks that discourage us the most.

Maybe you’ve heard things like:

~ That Pipe Dream of yours will never really make it.

~ Why ARE wasting your time with foolishness.

~ You’ll never make any REAL from those DREAMS.

The S-H-E-M-A Gurls encourage you to live each and every one of your dreams. Not to prove that it can be done so others can see, but for YOU to see. You can live your dreams and with much added success to boot.

Oprah Winfrey had a pipe dream, she wanted to have her own syndicated television show. People laughed at her and told it was impossible, but look where she is today! Don’t fool yourself into to thinking a pipe dream dear to your heart is tomfoolery.

We also have a member of S-H-E-M-A, Vyda Harris aka Ms Blue, she is a woman that has decided to live her dreams of becoming a photographer. Blue_Chrome_Photography is her company.  We are proud that she took a leap of faith in herself and like my biz partner always says, “she did the doggon thang”!

Martin Luther King had a dream. Mahatma Gandhi had a dream. Albert Schweitzer, Abraham Lincoln, Jonas Salk, and Neville Bonner all made a difference.  People we don’t know have made a difference too. You and me, ordinary people have made a difference in this world.  But…

Welcome To S-H-E-M-A Blog Times

Welcome to our blog! We are the S-H-E-M-A Gurls Team. We are bringing this blog to you To uplift and make you smile on a broader range. These blogs will consist of the thoughts and experiences we all face in our every day lives. Real stories coupled with the encouragement.

This blog will serve as discussion, networking and bringing people together through our little community; sharing things that we know and feel passionately about like work, business, social networking, relationships, parenting, daily events and so much more. We hope to get your thoughts on what is important to you, like what you’d like about or share with others. We will also take suggestions and where we need to improve. And through our discussions, we hope to make this the most friendliest and respectable blog on the internet today.

Let me tell you a little bit about how we got started. It was spring of 2006 when The S-H-E-M-A Gurls was started with an idea to always move forth and encourage women to be all they can be. We are also a network that is all about friendship and getting to know one another. Sharing hopes and dreams. Supporting small business and entrepreneurs. Praying together, etc… .

The S-H-E-M-A Gurls name came from an idea I had one day, it simply means – Sexy, Hot, Energetic, Mommas’ Association. My vision was to get together a group of women and help to encourage them to let it all shine through. No matter who you are, what walks of life you come from, no matter your religion and no matter what you are trying to accomplish, there is a rah rah team for you. Nita ( the co- founder of SHEMA)  felt my vision and wanted to immediately spread the word and put things in motion.  Nita came along as an angel to help me put the vision in focus.  Her excellent communicational skills has helped usher The S-H-E-M-A Gurls Network into action.

But it’s not all about the women…per say. Upon creation of the very first group in another networking community we had our very first male join and he was affectionately called an S-E-P which simply means Sexy, Energetic, Poppa…Yes, the men need love to and have it in them to let it shine through. S-E-P’s are very much welcome into the network. In fact we encourage it.

Currently, The S-H-E-M-A Gurls are available on line. We have also started monthly live get together for just the Gurls for a night of dinning, drinking (a lil wine) and some gurls-talk in Detroit and the Sacramento area. We hope to expand and have the S-H-E-M-A Gurls nights out expand across the country. Coming soon we will have our once a year S-H-E-M-A Gurls / S-E-P’s get together and networking events which could possibly be in your town, on a cruise or a beautiful island (ahhhhh).

In closing,  at S-H-E-M-A we believe:  ”A SMILE…Is The Sweetest Emotion”.   Remember to make someone smile today. Our favorite quote by Mya Angelou is this…

“I’ve learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel.”
